The Death of Business to Business and Business to Consumer and The Birth of “Human to Human”

Many believe that marketing is the constant effort to update that email list, to present yourself well and work with others for referrals. Are these methods working for you? Likely, the answer will be no or not as well as you’d hoped. The reason for this is because we have become immune to these boring tactics, ad clicks have decreased, as have email open rates, and don’t even get me started on all of those adverts we fast forward through.

How do you practice ‘Human to Human’?
To put H2H to play, you need to be prepared to give a lot and not expect to marry on the first date. You need to be providing excellent, useful content.

For instance, you could try offering a free guide or a recipe perhaps. Oh and don’t forget to add a pinch of beauty & humour.

Then, and only then, do you ask for the sale.

H2H is like…treat others how you’d like to be treated. It’s essentially all about you portraying your authentic voice.

Authenticity is Vital

Don’t be afraid to admit that you are new in the industry and perhaps are still learning as you go. People have been there and will be able to relate to you on a personal level.

Try to think of new as something fresh and innovative rather than inexperienced.

When I first entered the industry I drove a 53 plate Ford KA, which I absolutely loved, but to be honest, was a bit of an old banger. I would always make sure I parked at least 2 minutes away from the destination of my meeting to avoid potential clients seeing my drive.

However, this shouldn’t have mattered and to be honest it probably didn’t. I was always on time, professional and very knowledgeable. That is what H2H is about, not how successful you appear.

The marketing world is constantly evolving and you need to evolve with it!
